This Prosciutto, Apple, and Gruyere Grilled Cheese and Toast is a delightful combination of flavors, with the sweetness of apple complementing the savory prosciutto and melted Gruyere cheese. It's a perfect balance of textures and tastes, all nestled between two slices of crispy sourdough bread.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 4 ounces of thinly sliced prosciutto
- 1 medium apple, thinly sliced
- 4 ounces of Gruyere cheese, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of butter, softened
Instructions:
Set a pan or griddle over medium heat
Each piece of sourdough bread should have butter on one side
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread and place them on the skillet or griddle
Put apple slices, prosciutto, and Gruyere cheese on top of each slice
Add the last slices of bread on top, buttered side up
About 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts
Take it off the griddle or skillet and let it cool down a bit before serving
