Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
In another bowl, combine olive oil, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined
Stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth
Fill each donut cavity in the pan about two-thirds full with the batter
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth
Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the chocolate glaze and place them back on the wire rack to set
